2015-2016

• Country's largest insurer Life Insurance Corporation of India(LIC) has paid Rs.1804.35 CR to the government of India as dividend for 2015-2016
• LIC had declared a valuation surplus of Rs. 36087 crore for the financial year ending 2016.
• LIC has received a total premium income of 266225.38 crore against Rs.239482.77 crore in the previous showing a growth rate of 11.90 percent
• The total life fund of LIC stood at Rs.2057625.38 crore against 1824194.95 crore in the previous year. The total assets of the company rose to 2210378.65 crore from 2031116.08 crore in the previous year.
• During 2015-2016 LIC settled more than 2.15 crore claims for aggregate amount of over 101041.65 crore
